Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most rare of all pop artists: one capable of effectively bridge the gap between pop and country, conquering the globe. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin and showed that she was the most refined pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only musician/singer to follow the zeitgeist of popular music when she went on tour. Her talents were apparent in some of the first songs she released, most notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she was able to discover who she is and find a wide audience. Fearless became a massive success not just in America with six singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago, consolidated her prior successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. The popularity of Swift only grew through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) -- and saw her move confidently into a realm of pop music where she already belonged. While she reduced her work with folklore and Evermore released in 2020, she was in the forefront of pop music.
