Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. Her vivid imagination allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she learned to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own music. When she was eight, she bought her first electric guitar. She began to sing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same year she made her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She made a name for herself locally while still in high school, however she dreamed of a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964 she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time was searching for a singer on his show. Parton took the offer in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's show because the success of her solo albums like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to Number. 1 for the first time in 1974.
